An established and growing Top 10 accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join its team in Plymouth. Your role as an Audit Senior:

  • Leading audit engagements from planning through to completion.
  • Managing audit budgets and monitoring job progress against agreed timelines.
  • Reviewing financial statements and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
  • Assessing internal controls and identifying audit risks.
  • Supervising, coaching and developing junior team members.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and building strong working relationships.
  • Leading audit planning, progress and completion meetings.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve audit quality and efficiency.
  • Escalating complex technical matters where appropriate.
  • Ensuring key findings and recommendations are clearly documented and communicated.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (or be a finalist).
  • Previous experience working within Audit & Assurance in a practice environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, auditing standards and Companies Act requirements.
  • Experience leading audits and managing client relationships.
  • The ability to assess risk independently and make sound professional judgements.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
