  • An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced

Senior Audit Manager to join its team in Wilmslow.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Senior Manager who is looking for a clear route towards

Director level , with the opportunity to take ownership of a significant client portfolio, lead a team and play an important role in the continued growth of the practice.

The role would suit someone with a strong combination of audit and accounts experience , who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to take the next step in their career.

What you will be doing as a Senior Audit Manager

The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing a portfolio of predominantly SME and owner-managed clients, while overseeing a team and maintaining a high level of client service.

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of audit and accounts clients
  • Planning, managing and completing statutory audits from planning through to completion
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, predominantly under FRS 102
  • Working with businesses ranging from smaller SMEs through to larger groups with turnovers of approximately £40m-£250m
  • Reviewing audit files and accounts prepared by more junior members of the team
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and developing strong, long-term relationships
  • Managing budgets, deadlines and workflow across the portfolio
  • Providing technical guidance and support to the wider team
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing junior staff and supporting their progression
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and deliver additional value to clients
  • Working closely with Partners and Directors on more complex assignments and wider client matters
  • Supporting the continued growth and development of the practice
  • Taking an active role in identifying new business and developing existing client relationships
  • What you will need to succeed as a Senior Audit Manager
  • The ideal candidate will be an experienced

Audit Senior Manager, or an ambitious Audit Manager ready to step up , with a strong background in accountancy practice.

  • ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent
  • Strong audit and accounts experience gained within practice
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients
  • Previous experience managing, supervising and developing teams
  • Strong technical knowledge of
  • Experience working with SME and larger privately owned businesses
  • Experience of clients with turnovers ranging from approximately £40m to £250m
  • Strong statutory accounts preparation and review experience
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
  • Good commercial awareness and an interest in developing client relationships
  • The ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines and priorities effectively
  • IFRS experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
