An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join a specialist tax advisory team focusing on Equity Reward and Venture Capital Schemes.

This is a senior leadership role where you'll advise a diverse portfolio of high-growth businesses, investors and private equity-backed companies on complex equity incentive arrangements and venture capital tax reliefs.

You'll play a key role in shaping the growth of the service line, developing client relationships and mentoring a talented team.

Your role as a Senior Tax Manager

  • Lead the delivery of specialist advice on employee share schemes and venture capital tax reliefs.
  • Design and implement tax-efficient equity incentive arrangements, including EMI, CSOP and Growth Share schemes.
  • Advise clients on SEIS, EIS and VCT legislation and eligibility.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and commercial outcomes.
  • Act as the technical specialist within your area, providing expert guidance to clients and colleagues.
  • Lead and support business development initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Build strong relationships with high-growth businesses, investors and private equity firms.
  • Produce technical articles, webinars and thought leadership content.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider tax and advisory teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and contribute to the strategic direction of the team.
  • Coach, mentor and develop Managers and Assistant Managers, creating a positive and high-performing team culture.
  • Take ownership of project profitability and financial performance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • CTA, ACA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 7 years' experience within UK tax advisory.
  • Strong technical expertise in equity reward and venture capital tax schemes.
  • Proven experience advising on: EMI, CSOP, Growth Share arrangements, SEIS/EIS & VCTs.
  • Experience advising high-growth and entrepreneurial businesses.
  • Knowledge of private equity transactions and investment structures.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commercial mindset with experience identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching and developing teams.
