We are seeking a dynamic Marketing & Business Development Specialist to support the business’ continued growth and expansion of our services. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering multi-channel marketing and customer engagement strategies. The role involves a blend of high-level strategic planning with hands-on campaign execution to drive lead generation and promote and enhance the excellent reputation of the company.

Supported by our highly skilled technical team and working with engineers and technicians across the business, you will develop our website content, our social media networks and presence, and will represent and promote the business at conferences and industry events. You will engage directly with clients, promoting specific products, projects and services.

Existing understanding of Energy management, UK Energy Markets, Carbon Accounting, Renewable energy technologies as they relate to businesses, is essential together with at least 5 years professional B2B marketing experience in a similar role.

Location: Rugby Warwickshire – in person with some travel to clients and events.

Full time: 37.5 hours per week (willingness to occasionally work outside regular hours for events or deadlines).

Permanent: after successful completion of probationary period.

We build long-term relationships with our clients through continued consultancy support utilising our own software products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Senior Management Team, sales consultants, engineers and technicians across the business.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and deliver sector-specific, targeted marketing campaigns to energy-intensive industries and high energy use business sectors within the UK.
  • Identifying sales & marketing opportunities: Stay ahead of important energy policy changes/new legislation that translate into sales and marketing opportunities.
  • Lead Generation: Build a high-quality, data-driven B2B pipeline. Identify and engage with potential partner organisations.
  • Content & Brand Management: Develop and write professional accurate technical content - news items, case studies, technical papers as well as more direct marketing such as event invitations, web content, email campaigns, social media. Ensure consistent and professional messaging across all channels.
  • Marketing Material: In collaboration with our in-house graphics team, design and produce appropriate marketing material for campaigns and events.
  • CRM & Campaign Management: Oversee the company's CRM and monitor and report on KPIs related to specific marketing campaigns.
  • Events & PR: Identify, organise, and participate in appropriate conferences, speaker opportunities, exhibitions and webinars.
  • Engaging, presenting and demonstrating: Engage with senior decision makers in large energy-intensive businesses to discuss their energy and carbon strategies and goals. Comfortable to demonstrate the company’s digital products for energy management and carbon accounting.

Experience: At least 5 years B2B experience in a similar marketing role. Experience of engaging decision makers within large companies (ideally manufacturing sector).

Technical Understanding: Knowledge of energy and energy efficiency, carbon accounting, compliance, renewable technologies.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills - proven ability to write compelling content with excellent attention to detail; able to translate complex technical concepts into marketing copy; able to confidently engage with colleagues, stakeholders and prospective clients on the telephone and in person.

Analytical Proficiency: Ability to identify relevant marketing and sales opportunities and able to track and analyse campaign performance.

Strategy to execution: Proven ability to develop a strategic costed marketing plan. To execute the plans at all levels in line with the key responsibilities of the role.
