You are the first impression of the firm, delivering a polished, discreet, and highly organised front-of-house service in a legal environment while supporting meeting rooms, visitor management, and office administration.

Role overview

This is a detail-led reception role where professionalism, confidentiality, and consistency are essential. You will manage the front desk and switchboard, welcome clients and visitors, maintain secure sign-in and access processes, and ensure meeting rooms are prepared to a high standard for client meetings, interviews, and internal sessions. You will also support office services and day-to-day administration, keeping records accurate, handling post and couriers, and ensuring the reception area runs smoothly. You will regularly interact with partners, fee earners, senior support teams, and external clients, so a calm, composed approach and strong judgement are key.

A day in the life

You start by opening reception and ensuring the front-of-house area is tidy, professional, and client-ready. You check the visitor diary, confirm expected arrivals, and ensure meeting rooms are booked correctly and prepared, including seating layouts, refreshments, and any basic equipment needs. You switch on phones, review messages, and monitor the flow of calls, transferring accurately.
