A fast-growing ecommerce organisation is looking for a Junior PHP Developer to join its expanding in-house development team in Kent. This is a full-time, permanent role and is 100% office-based, offering a great opportunity for someone early in their development career to build hands-on commercial experience in a high-volume environment supporting both customer-facing journeys and business-critical internal systems.
In this role, you will help develop and maintain PHP web applications that sit at the heart of day-to-day operations. You will build new features and enhance existing functionality using a modern PHP framework such as CakePHP (or similar frameworks like Laravel). You will be expected to write clean, readable and maintainable code, troubleshoot and resolve bugs, and continuously improve system stability and performance as the business scales.
You will collaborate closely with other developers and wider stakeholders to design practical, scalable solutions, and you will take part in regular code reviews to learn from feedback and strengthen your engineering fundamentals. You will also gain exposure to best practices around version control and team delivery, contributing to a supportive environment.
