Your new role:
Your new role will be to guide and direct the warehouse operators as they carry out their day-to-day duties, ensure all time constraints are met and that each shift is carried out safely and without issue. The warehouse controller is to step in and assist the Senior Warehouse Day Supervisor / Head of Hub Operations, when required to ensure that the day-to-day running of the shift runs smoothly and that all duties are carried out in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a team on a daily basis reporting into the Senior Warehouse Day Supervisor.
- Deputising for Senior Warehouse Day Supervisor during holiday cover, sickness etc.
- Dealing with other departments in a pleasant, personable manner.
- Following company procedures and policies and enforcing that within the team.
- To be part of the day to day operation within the warehouse.
- Ensuring the Operators are trained on all aspects within the warehouse operation.
- Using real-time data collection to increase accuracy and lower labour costs.
- Maintaining computerised administration, update KPI’s on a daily basis.
- Overseeing logistics of receiving, warehousing and dispatch operations.
- Meeting regularly with warehouse leads to assess, analyse and develop actionable plans for loss prevention and productivity.
- Performing general maintenance of the machinery used in the warehouse.
What you’ll need to succeed:
To achieve all of that, you will be able to demonstrate and show evidence of:
- Previous warehouse experience – 2 years minimum required.
- Supervisor / Management experience – 3 years minimum required.
- Ability to think outside the box to get the job done.
