Pro Admin is looking for an experienced and pro-active full-time HR Generalist to join our team to support our front-line managers across BC & AB. We operate in both Union and Non-union environments in the complex care industry. We are looking for someone who guides and directs their own work. The right candidate will identify gaps in current systems or processes and determine how to improve them by creating, altering, or removing ineffective components.

HR Generalist Must Haves:

  • Completion of a Post Secondary Education Business Degree, Human Resources program preferred;
  • 2+ years of previous experience in a similar role;
  • Satisfactory proof of Covid-19 vaccination;
  • Must be willing to work in office 100% of the time with flexible scheduling;
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Law;
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Pro-active, with minimal need for supervision;
  • Resourceful with great initiative.

HR Generalist Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with: Union & Non-Union environments, Progressive Corrective Discipline, Performance Management, Medical Leaves, and Duty to Accommodate requests, Tracking and managing various programs;
  • Strong knowledge of Collective Agreements;
  • Understanding of Immigration processes in Canada and BC.

HR Generalist Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Respond to Labour Relations issues across designated sites, including performance management, investigations, and disciplinary actions;
  • Conduct site visits to support staff and managers;
  • Liaise with unions and manage union relations, including drive organizing and collective agreement interpretation;
  • Coordinate immigration strategies;
  • Draft and distribute company newsletters;
  • Prepare seniority reports for union sites;
  • Assist in handling medical leaves and duty to accommodate cases;
  • Manage employee transfers and exit interviews;
  • Analyze engagement survey results and collaborate on improvement plans;
  • Track education reimbursements and return-to-work agreements;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
