I am working with a highly regarded boutique accountancy firm in East London looking to hire an Audit Semi-Senior into its growing Audit & Assurance team.
This is a great opportunity for someone already building their audit career in practice who wants more responsibility, better client exposure and the chance to progress within a supportive, well-established firm.
You will work across a varied client portfolio spanning a range of sectors, gradually taking ownership of larger sections of audit work and, with support, smaller assignments.
The role
You will get involved in:
- Supporting audits from planning through to completion
- Taking ownership of allocated audit sections
- Preparing high-quality working papers
- Identifying audit risks and raising issues with Seniors, Managers and Partners
- Liaising directly with clients and obtaining audit evidence
- Supporting and coaching more junior trainees
- Clearing review points and helping maintain well-organised audit files
- Assisting with statutory accounts preparation
- Working closely with Accounts, Tax and other specialist teams
- Developing your technical knowledge across audit and UK financial reporting
As you develop, you will be given increasing responsibility and the opportunity to take greater ownership of client work.
What they are looking for
Ideally you will be:
- Studying towards ACA or ACCA
- Currently working within a UK accountancy practice
- Experienced in external audit
- Comfortable taking ownership of audit sections
- Confident communicating directly with clients
- Organised and able to manage competing deadlines
- Keen to continue developing technically and professionally
