The Opportunity
As a Media Relations Manager you will be responsible for delivering B2B and B2C public relations support for our Customers & Corporate businesses at EDF. The role is varied, working in a busy press office that covers proactive and reactive media activity.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will take the lead in delivering corporate and customer media communications, following the guidance from the Head of Media Relations. This includes covering press office operations, driving proactive media initiatives, and offering expert advice on external communication strategies, with a particular focus on media engagement. Additionally, you will identify potential risks and take proactive measures to protect the company’s reputation, including crisis communications. As Media Relations Manager, you will support the delivery of the company’s media strategy, with a focus on advancing the priorities of its Customers business, which covers a broad range of downstream activities including: large business, SME, retail, zero carbon home and wholesale market activities. This includes monitoring media development related to customer activities and ensuring timely internal distribution of relevant updates. You will foster effective stakeholder engagement and build strong relationships with national and regional media outlets, including energy correspondents, personal finance writers and consumer contacts. You’ll also work as part of integrated teams to brief on digital aspects of external communications, such as social media, while providing day to day guidance and coaching to a Media Relations Officer. This role also requires participation in the out-of-hours duty press office rota, ensuring a 24/7 media response.

With expertise in managing large, integrated PR campaigns that generate impactful coverage, you’ll also bring a strong network of media contacts.
