Join Commplicated, a strategic communications and design agency that works at the centre of the deep tech world, helping the founders building quantum computers, frontier AI platforms and defence technology raise capital, win media coverage and shape the narratives that define their categories.
About the agency
Commplicated is Europe’s leading strategic communications firm for deep tech startups. They work hands-on with early-stage founders across sectors including frontier AI, defence and quantum computing, with clients such as Literal Labs, Nu Quantum, Ignota Labs, and Expeditions, helping them raise capital, win coverage and build reputations that compound over time. It is a small team that is thoughtful about adding new roles and growing sustainably. Currently they are a team of three Portfolio Directors, the Founder and a wider network of freelance specialists. Revenue has doubled since January, an indication that you will be joining an agency that is making its mark, growing, and that can provide you with a career trajectory unlike many others.
Benefits & Culture
Commplicated runs lean and gives its people real ownership from day one. You’ll hold your own portfolio of deep tech accounts, working closely with the Portfolio Directors but trusted to manage the day-to-day relationship yourself. You can use the agency’s co-working space as much or as little as you like, but the team makes a point of coming together in person, with a monthly team day, regular time at client offices and conferences, and an annual company retreat (Copenhagen this year). It’s a fast-growing agency, doubling revenue since January, so the pace is real, but it’s a team that backs each other and shares in the momentum. Benefits include:
- Hybrid working – One day per month in office with the team and one day per week onsite at client offices.
- Monthly team get-togethers, plus an annual company retreat (Copenhagen this year)
- Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
- Annual company-paid subscription (Spotify, Netflix or similar)
- Regular time at client offices and industry conferences
- 25 days annual leave + office closes between Christmas and New Year
About the job
Supporting the Portfolio Directors, you’ll take responsibility for the execution of PR campaigns, social content creation, AI monitoring and optimisation, and media relations delivery. This is a varied, hands-on role at an agency that’s growing quickly with stellar clients, and will give you the chance to shape a brand new AI service alongside your client work.
- Work alongside Portfolio Directors to take client briefs, manage day-to-day communication and keep work on track against the WIP, escalating to Portfolio Directors when needed
- Help ensure projects are delivered on time and in budget on your accounts
- Own the day-to-day delivery of Commplicated’s AI optimization (GEO) service: monitoring how clients show up in AI search and chat tools, and refining key messaging to improve it
- Research deep tech sectors, primarily frontier AI, defense and quantum computing, and turn that research into sharp messaging and narrative for clients
- Draft and edit press materials, LinkedIn content, bylines and other client communications
- Help spot new business opportunities and contribute to proposals and pitches
- Represent Commplicated at client meetings and deep tech industry conferences
About you
Essential experience: PR experience (agency or in-house), at the Senior Account Executive level, working on deep tech, startups and the VC world.
The ideal candidate:
- Is intellectually curious about technology and the startup ecosystem, and genuinely enjoys reading and learning about it.
- Has strong, clear writing and the ability to make complex, technical ideas easy to understand.
- Is comfortable managing day-to-day client relationships and juggling multiple accounts at once.
- Can spot what needs doing and get on with it, rather than waiting to be asked.
- Is confident working with senior stakeholders and strong-minded founders.
- Has an interest in AI and how it’s changing communications, with an appetite to own that piece of the business.
