The role
We are looking for a Junior Account Manager with 1–2 years’ experience in PR, public affairs, journalism or a related field to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to take real ownership of client work and play a central role in delivering campaigns that shape national conversations. You will work across client accounts to build profiles, develop strong narratives, secure high-impact coverage and support engagement with policymakers and other influential stakeholders. You will play a critical role in client delivery, helping to turn ideas into media coverage, thought leadership and policy-facing communications that reach the right audiences.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of client and agency activity, including:
- Managing day-to-day client relationships and communications
- Drafting high-quality written materials, including opinion pieces, press releases, briefing notes and policy-led content
- Crafting high-impact, punchy and persuasive media pitches
- Identifying and securing media coverage across trade, regional, national and online outlets
- Proactively spotting comment opportunities and news angles for clients
- Following up with journalists to secure editorial coverage
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, policymakers and key stakeholders
- Supporting engagement with MPs, advisers, officials and sector voices where relevant
- Researching political, policy and business developments relevant to client campaigns
- Tracking political and media events to inform forward planning and client strategy
- Contributing to campaign strategy and wider thought leadership development
- Assisting with proposals, briefings and other new business materials where needed
About you
We are looking for someone who is curious, politically aware, highly organised and confident handling responsibility. You should have:
- 1–2 years’ experience in PR, public affairs, journalism or a related field
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a clear, confident and persuasive style
- A strong interest in politics, policy, media and current affairs
- Experience pitching stories, comments or interviews to the media
- Good understanding of how to develop compelling angles for different audiences
- Confidence communicating with external stakeholders and representing clients professionally
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and contribute ideas
- Attention to detail and sound editorial judgement
