Key Responsibilities
- Site prep: Clear land, mark out areas, set levels
- Excavation support: Dig trenches, load/unload materials, spread hardcore
- Drainage & civils: Lay pipes, manholes, kerbs, and basic concrete
- Keep site tidy: Clean roads, manage waste, and segregate materials
- Safety: Follow site rules, wear PPE, report hazards
- Plant operation: May need to operate small plant (e.g., dumper, breaker) if trained
- Teamwork: Take direction from supervisors, work with other trades
Requirements – UK 2026
- Quals: CSCS card (green/labourer). NVQ in Groundworks a plus
- Experience: 1-2 years construction/labouring experience
- Skills: Manual handling, basic tools, teamwork
- Tickets: SMSTS (or willing to get), banksman if needed
