Key Responsibilities
- Supervise electrical teams: Manage electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors doing wiring, panel builds, cable routes, etc.
- Design compliance: Ensure install meets project specs, BS 7671 (UK wiring regs), CDM 2015
- Planning & coordination: Review drawings, issue instructions, manage interfaces (M&E, civils, process)
- Quality & testing: Witness tests, check insulation, polarity, earth; sign off work packages
- Safety lead: Enforce site rules, PTW, isolation; report hazards and incidents
- Progress & reports: Track labour, materials, update PM, chase snags
- Handover support: Collate docs, O&M manuals, training for ops team
Requirements
- Quals: HNC/HND Electrical Engineering or equiv. City & Guilds 2391/6 preferred
- Experience: 5+ years supervising electrical installs on complex industrial/M&E projects
- Competencies: BS 7671, ATEX if plant has hazardous zones, MS Excel
- Skills: Leadership, problem-solving, reading P&IDs/E&I drawings
- Certs: CSCS gold card, SMSTS, confined space if needed
