We are seeking an experienced Plater / Plater Welder to join our fabrication workshop in [Location].
Duties:
- Reading and interpreting engineering / fabrication drawings
- Marking out, cutting (oxy/propane & plasma), forming and fabricating structural steel and platework
- Tack welding fabrications to ensure square / level / plumb using dogs & wedges, clamps
- Full assembly of heavy & light fabrications
- MIG/MMA welding to a good standard (coded advantageous but not essential)
- Using overhead crane, magnet drills, grinders
- Working to tight tolerances and QA standards
Requirements:
- Time-served / NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication / Plating or equivalent experience
- Able to read engineering drawings confidently
- Experienced in platework / structural steel
- Plater/Welder must be competent in MIG (135) / MMA (111)
- CSCS / CCNSG advantageous
