Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections for piping works including fabrication, erection, fit-up, and welding activities.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and international standards.
- Conduct visual inspections (fit-up, welding, dimensional checks) and coordinate NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT).
- Monitor material traceability and ensure correct material usage (MTC, heat numbers, tagging).
- Prepare and review QA/QC documentation such as ITPs, Method Statements, inspection reports, and NCRs.
- Identify non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
Weld Log & Data Management Responsibilities
- Prepare, update, and maintain weld logs in accordance with project requirements.
- Record and track all weld joints including joint numbers, welder IDs, WPS details, and NDT results.
- Ensure accurate entry of weld data into project systems/databases.
- Coordinate with welding inspectors, NDT teams, and construction teams to ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor weld repair rates and provide reports when required.
- Ensure full traceability between weld maps, isometrics, and inspection records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in piping QA/QC within industrial projects (oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, etc.).
- Experience in welding inspection and documentation.
- Familiarity with weld log systems and data tracking tools (Excel or specialized software).
- Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and P&IDs.
- Good command of English (preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 or equivalent welding inspector certification.
- Experience in large-scale EPC projects.
