Overview: We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to provide clinical, personal, and domestic support to a 46-year-old male with a spinal-cord injury. You will help him live his professional, personal, and social life independently, working as part of a small, supportive care team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical & Personal Care: Bladder/bowel management, bathing, dressing, shaving, oral care, medication administration, eating support, physiotherapy, and exercises.
- Social Support: Accompany to medical appointments, work, social events, exercise, pet care, and UK or international trips.
- Domestic Duties: Cooking, meal prep, grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, ironing, light gardening.
Flexibility to cover team absences and adapt to daily needs.
Requirements:
- Comfortable providing personal and clinical care in a home environment.
- Full UK driving license (no endorsements) and willingness to drive employer's vehicle.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, occasionally staying away.
- Eligible to work in the UK; pass an enhanced DBS and criminal records check.
- Reliable, flexible, positive, honest, and able to work independently.
- Understanding of home care and spinal-cord injuries preferred, or willingness to train.
- Comfortable around pets (dogs) and assisting with their care.
