Private Secretary Group is a rapidly growing healthcare support company providing medical secretarial, practice management and administrative support services to consultants and clinicians working within private healthcare. We act as an extension of our consultants' practices, supporting everything from patient enquiries and appointment bookings through to referrals, investigations, billing, clinic administration and day-to-day practice management.

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and professional individual to join our team as a Private Medical Secretary. This is not a traditional medical secretary role. Whilst medical secretarial experience is advantageous, we are looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the wider operation of a busy business and is willing to take ownership of tasks, solve problems and support both patients and clinicians to a high standard.

Requirements

The successful candidate will provide administrative and medical secretarial support to a portfolio of private consultants and their patients. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing patient enquiries via telephone and email
  • Booking appointments and investigations
  • Processing referrals and new patient enquiries
  • Sending request forms and arranging investigations
  • Managing consultant diaries and clinic administration
  • Chasing results, reports and correspondence
  • Liaising with hospitals, insurers and external providers
  • Assisting with billing and payment queries
  • Supporting consultant onboarding processes
  • Maintaining accurate records within Carebit and other systems
  • Proofreading and quality-checking correspondence where required
  • Assisting with wider administrative and operational projects across the business

  • Medical secretarial experience
  • Private healthcare experience

  • Experience within a healthcare, administrative or customer service environment
