We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our new team of Personal Carers to provide high-quality support for a young female who is a full-time wheelchair user, Deaf, and partially sighted. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working within the care sector, and a strong understanding of the unique needs associated with neurological conditions and hearing impairments is desired, but not essential.
Qualifications:
- Experience caring for deaf individuals and clients with neurological conditions (preferred).
- Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) or relevant sign language (preferred).
- Understanding of neurological disorders and associated care requirements (preferred).
- NVQ Level 2 (or above) in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to use own initiative.
- Patience, empathy, and a person-centred approach.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver's licence & must be willing to drive clients' adapted car (large van).
- Up-to-date DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
