We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant to support a neurodivergent woman with ADHD and ME/CFS. The role will involve supporting with daily routines, light housework, and meal preparation. You will be joining a welcoming, diverse, and supportive home environment that values flexibility, kindness and humour.
Responsibilities
- Prompting and assisting with morning self-care tasks such as showering, dressing, and having breakfast.
- Helping to plan the day and updating visual timetables.
- Carrying out general housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying up, changing bedding and vacuuming.
- Assisting with evening meals and providing support as needed.
Ideal Candidate
- Have an understanding of the social model of disability, and be committed to promoting independence and empowerment.
- Be neurodivergence- and LGBT-friendly, with an openness to different ways of thinking and living.
- Be comfortable around dogs (a nervous rescue dog) and young children.
- Have the ability to take direction and perform tasks in a particular way as requested, while also using initiative and being proactive in completing tasks without needing constant reminders.
- Have experience (or a strong willingness to learn) in supporting individuals with complex needs, especially with ADHD, ME/CFS, and/or autism.
- Be female or non-binary (genuine occupational requirement for this role due to the personal nature of the care).

- Has the ability to adapt to the varying needs of the household and can remain flexible with working hours.
