Overview

A female PA/Carer is required for a physically disabled woman with a mild learning difficulty, who uses a wheelchair and a communication aid to speak. She requires help with all her daily living tasks and personal care. She is looking for someone who is kind, patient, positive in attitude, and able to empathise with and understand the needs of a disabled person.

Responsibilities

  • Help her enjoy an active life, which includes dancing, art, music and socialising with friends and visiting interesting places.
  • Assist with daily living tasks and personal care as required.
  • Support independent living and use of a communication aid.
  • Participate in activities and outings as appropriate.
  • Share in providing cover for other staff members if they are on holiday or sick.
  • Work with the team to maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Fit and energetic and a non-smoker.
  • Confident in using public transport with a wheelchair.
  • The ability to drive would be helpful but is not essential.
  • Ideally live within easy travel distance to Blackheath SE3.

Hours

The hours of work will be from 8pm on Wednesday until 8pm on Thursday (with sleep over on the Wednesday night).
