Are you a passionate gardener looking to join a dynamic team working within beautiful private grounds? We are offering an exciting opportunity to become part of a small, dedicated gardening team maintaining diverse and picturesque gardens near the village of Guiting Power.

About the Role:

As a gardener, you will be responsible for maintaining the gardens which include:

  • Lawns, water features, and natural areas
  • Rose gardens and herbaceous borders
  • A walled garden, greenhouses, and fruit cages

This is a varied and hands-on role encompassing all aspects of gardening, including:

  • Pruning, weeding, lawn edging, leaf clearing and hedge cutting
  • Border, and pot/planter establishment
  • Mowing with ride-on and walk-behind machines

Collaborating with team members to ensure the gardens are kept to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be passionate about gardening
  • Thrive working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Have a tidy appearance and strong communication skills
  • Demonstrate a proactive, team-oriented approach with a strong work ethic

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Plant knowledge
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Keen attention to detail, manual handling skills and working at heights
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills (Not Essential):

  • Previous experience in large gardens
  • Knowledge of propagation techniques
  • RHS Qualifications
  • Experience in operating garden machinery
  • Basic machinery servicing skills
  • Spraying certificates (PA1/PA6)
  • Experience with tree work
