London based technology innovator and several partners are working in stealth mode to advance the design of a disruptive, highly energy efficient aircraft for long-distance air travel. By joining this project, you will become part of a world-class team of engineers committed to achieve the biggest leap in aviation since the introduction of the jet engine.

Task description

  • Create a parametric CAD model of a new aircraft based on results from the conceptual design team (modelling of the outer mold line, modelling of the interior structure, system integration)
  • Provide geometry and design variations to the conceptual design team
  • Set up a digital repository for the aircraft, establish version control, set up a framework for multidisciplinary design optimisation

Qualifications

  • Highly skilled industrial designer, strong experienced with PLM software (Siemens NX, Dassault 3DExperience)
  • Exceptional skills in modelling aerodynamic surfaces
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering
  • Good programming skills (Python, Matlab, etc.)
  • Experience in aircraft design (aerodynamics, structures, flight dynamics and control)
  • Experience in structural design
  • Preferred, but not mandatory:
  • 3+ years of professional experience with aircraft technology and design
  • Hands on experience (wind tunnel testing, scaled flight testing)
  • Additional software experience: CFD tools (Ansys, VLM methods), FE tools (Nastran, Patran)
