London based technology innovator and several partners are working in stealth mode to advance the design of a disruptive, highly energy efficient aircraft for long-distance air travel. By joining this project, you will become part of a world-class team of engineers committed to achieve the biggest leap in aviation since the introduction of the jet engine.
Task description
- Create a parametric CAD model of a new aircraft based on results from the conceptual design team (modelling of the outer mold line, modelling of the interior structure, system integration)
- Provide geometry and design variations to the conceptual design team
- Set up a digital repository for the aircraft, establish version control, set up a framework for multidisciplinary design optimisation
Qualifications
- Highly skilled industrial designer, strong experienced with PLM software (Siemens NX, Dassault 3DExperience)
- Exceptional skills in modelling aerodynamic surfaces
- Experience with model-based systems engineering
- Good programming skills (Python, Matlab, etc.)
- Experience in aircraft design (aerodynamics, structures, flight dynamics and control)
- Experience in structural design
- Preferred, but not mandatory:
- 3+ years of professional experience with aircraft technology and design
- Hands on experience (wind tunnel testing, scaled flight testing)
- Additional software experience: CFD tools (Ansys, VLM methods), FE tools (Nastran, Patran)
