London based technology innovator and several partners are working in stealth mode to advance the design of a disruptive, highly energy efficient aircraft for long-distance air travel. By joining this project, you will become part of a world-class team of engineers committed to achieve the biggest leap in aviation since the introduction of the jet engine.
Responsibilities
- Perform conceptual design activities on a novel aircraft concept (evaluation of performance requirements, aircraft synthesis and optimization, weight assessment, aerodynamic analysis, engine and landing gear integration, flight dynamics assessment)
- Manage the design repository and digital twin of a new aircraft concept
- Guide engineering activities of team members, partners, and consultants to de-risk a new airframe technology
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in aircraft design (aerodynamics, structures, flight dynamics and control, propulsion, performance, requirements and regulation)
- 3+ years of professional experience in aircraft technology and design
- Proven track record in designing aircraft
- Hands on experience (wind tunnel testing, scaled flight testing)
- Software experience: 3DX, CATIA, Solid Works, NX, Matlab, Python, CFD tools (Ansys, VLM methods), FE tools (Nastran, Patran)
