KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Advisory and Relationship Management:
- Provide strategic advice on data privacy compliance frameworks, including GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and other global privacy laws.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for privacy-related matters.
- Develop customized data protection strategies and solutions tailored to client needs.
Project Leadership:
- Lead and manage complex privacy projects, ensuring deliverables are met within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement data privacy initiatives and compliance programs.
Regulatory Guidance and Risk Assessment:
- Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to advise clients on mitigating data privacy risks.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and audits to identify and address compliance gaps.
Training and Awareness:
- Design and deliver privacy training sessions to internal teams and clients.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments and disseminate insights to clients and the internal team.
Thought Leadership and Advocacy:
- Represent the firm at industry events, panels, and conferences as a subject-matter expert.
- Contribute to the firm\’s publications and thought leadership on emerging data privacy trends.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Law, Business, Information Security, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) are highly desirable.
Professional Experience:
- 3-4 years of experience in data privacy roles within consulting or law firms, and in-house client-side roles.
- Track record of managing large-scale compliance projects.
Skills and Competencies:
- Deep understanding of global privacy regulations, particularly GDPR.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a consultative approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in at least one additional European language is mandatory.
- Strong presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
