The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Kidlington manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production processes, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves managing staff, optimising operational procedures, and collaborating with other departments and partner companies to meet production demands.

Tasks and Accountabilities

  • Plan, organise, and oversee the manufacturing teams to ensure efficient operations and production requirements are achieved.
  • Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer demands.
  • Monitor production metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and manage the production supervisors and operators, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Work with the quality assurance and governance team to maintain product standards and implement quality control processes.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the customer (partner companies) and maintain effective communications.
  • Management oversight of the budget for the Kidlington manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to agreed annual budget.
  • Collaborate as required with all Prismatic functional teams to ensure efficient and compliant manufacturing operations.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business operations, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations management.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and operational efficiency.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams that are going through a period of growth/change.

Desirable:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing tools and techniques with evidence of where you have used them previously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and using computer systems.
  • Ability to mentor and train other users.
  • Careful and organised approach to tasks.
  • Reliable in respect of quality and timeliness of deliverable items.
  • Evidence of taking ownership of problems/high level requirements.

Additional Information

The role is based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire; however, there will be occasional travel to our Alton, Hampshire, site and other businesses as required.

  • Salary: £55,000 - £65,000, dependent on experience.
  • Bonus: Non contractual company performance related bonus.
