The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Kidlington manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production processes, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves managing staff, optimising operational procedures, and collaborating with other departments and partner companies to meet production demands.
Tasks and Accountabilities
- Plan, organise, and oversee the manufacturing teams to ensure efficient operations and production requirements are achieved.
- Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer demands.
- Monitor production metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement improvement opportunities.
- Lead and manage the production supervisors and operators, providing training and development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Work with the quality assurance and governance team to maintain product standards and implement quality control processes.
- Develop a strong working relationship with the customer (partner companies) and maintain effective communications.
- Management oversight of the budget for the Kidlington manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to agreed annual budget.
- Collaborate as required with all Prismatic functional teams to ensure efficient and compliant manufacturing operations.
Requirements
Essential:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business operations, or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing operations management.
- Strong understanding of production processes and operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams that are going through a period of growth/change.
Desirable:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience in SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in Lean manufacturing tools and techniques with evidence of where you have used them previously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and using computer systems.
- Ability to mentor and train other users.
- Careful and organised approach to tasks.
- Reliable in respect of quality and timeliness of deliverable items.
- Evidence of taking ownership of problems/high level requirements.
Additional Information
The role is based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire; however, there will be occasional travel to our Alton, Hampshire, site and other businesses as required.

- Salary: £55,000 - £65,000, dependent on experience.
