Senior Front-End Developer | React & Java Script | High-Growth Payments & Ordering Platform
- Location: London, hybrid. 3 days on site through probation, then more flexible.
Our client is a business building point-of-sale and payments technology for high-volume, high-footfall venues, the kind of places that take thousands of transactions in a few hours.
They're scaling fast and want a Senior Front-End Developer to own the front end across their products.
You'll set the front-end architecture across their portal and mobile ordering products, work day to day in React and Java Script, and sit close to product and design.
You'll also mentor one or two developers.
This is a strong senior with the appetite to grow into leadership, not a people manager running a big team, so most of your week stays in the code.
Ideally you're coming from a competitor or a similar payments or POS platform.
- Non-Negotiables
- React
- Java Script
- Senior front-end experience, still hands-on in the code
- Component-driven front-end architecture
- Responsive, cross-browser, high-performance web apps built at scale
- Mentoring one or two developers (formal people-management experience not required, but welcomed)
- Strong technical decision-making under pressure
- What You'll Work With
- Portal and mobile ordering products
- Design system and shared component library
- Payment flows and real-time data integrations
- Automated testing, CI/CD, and performance monitoring
- Nice to Haves
- Type Script
- State management: Redux, Context API
- React Native for mobile apps
- Node. js, Express, Mongo DB, or Postgre SQL
- Background in payments, event tech, hospitality, or retail
- Coming from a competitor or a similar POS / payments platform
- Why Join
You own the front end outright: the architecture, the design system, the standards the code is written to.
The business is scaling, so what you ship now shapes the product for years, and you see it in the field the moment the gates open.
The management load is light.
You'll mentor one or two developers, no more, so this is a chance to grow into technical leadership without stepping away from building.
A strong senior who is almost there suits this better than someone who already runs a large team.
It suits someone who wants autonomy and accountability over process. If you need heavy structure and long sign-off chains, this isn't the seat.

How to prepare for a job interview at Prism Digital
✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills
For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.
✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks
Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Prism Digital uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions
While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
