Priory Hospital Preston is a 50‑bed mental health hospital, offering an extensive range of services delivered across four wards. We can support adult males and females with acute mental health needs and eating disorders, and specialise in the management and treatment of these conditions.

Position Details

  • Part‑time, 30 hours per week.
  • Site based.
  • Salary: £68,073 per year.
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality psychiatric and medical care to patients admitted to the adult psychiatric wards.
  • Work collaboratively with Consultant Psychiatrists, multidisciplinary teams, Resident Medical Officers, General Practitioners, pharmacists and external agencies to ensure delivery of safe, effective and recovery‑focused care.
  • Contribute to assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of patients with acute mental health disorders.
  • Support delivery of comprehensive physical healthcare within the inpatient setting.

Requirements

  • Hold an MBBS qualification or an equivalent recognised medical qualification.
  • Maintain full registration with the GMC together with a licence to practise and remain in good standing with the GMC at all times.
  • Comply with professional standards and ethical expectations applicable to medical practitioners working within psychiatric services.
