Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is looking to recruit an occupational therapist to join the team on our CAMHS unit. This is a full‑time role of 37.5 hours based on site. Set within picturesque landscaped gardens in Stockport, Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults.

Responsibilities

  • You will play a key part in patients’ recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
  • Manage and co‑ordinate the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication.
  • Receive and respond promptly to referrals, undertake patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.

Qualifications

  • The candidate holds a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy, full membership in the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HPC).
  • Minimum experience required: three years, including at least one year in a specialised area such as addictions, neuro‑rehabilitation, or eating disorders.
