Priory Hospital East Midlands is looking to recruit a Head Chef to join the team. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week.
Location: Priory East Midlands, Mansfield Road, Annesley, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, NG15 OAR
Compensation: £32,995 / year
Priory Hospital East Midlands, located between Nottingham and Mansfield, is a 28-bedded specialist acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) service for adult females. Priory’s acute and PICU services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas.
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you’re assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing staff and procedures to ensure the efficient delivery of all aspects of food preparation and cooking, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the unit.
- Actively involved in the preparation and cooking, as well as managing the work of others, ensuring operational standards comply with the company’s ‘Assured Safe Catering policies’ and guidelines.
- Supervising, developing and motivating a small team of catering staff at all levels, ensuring compliance with safety legislation and Priory policies in all catering operational areas.
- Managing stock ordering and rotation in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Qualifications required:
- NVQ3 or equivalent or Qualified By Experience in Catering together with an Intermediate Food Safety Certificate.
