Cragston Court has an opportunity for an Activity Coordinator to join our team. Cragston Court Rehabilitation Service is located in Blakelaw, a suburb of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. It is a 20 bed residential service, offering nurse-led rehabilitation programmes for people living with enduring mental health conditions. We support people coming to us from a hospital environment, and those stepping up from another community placement or their own homes.

We can also support those who have:

  • Mild to moderate behaviour that may challenge
  • A forensic background
  • Additional health needs

What you'll be doing:

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

  • Prepares plans and delivers a wide range of activities and programmes that are tailored to meet the needs and abilities of the individual
  • Providing group activities and programmes to bring the residents together
  • Participates in site wide programmes and activities, and in other home programmes, with the agreement of line manager
  • Is able to creatively plan activities to meet the needs of service users

What you'll bring to the role:

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows. You will be a creative individual who has experience working with people with learning disabilities, autism and/or complex needs within a similar environment. As such, you will have developed the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to contribute ideas to develop home activities. Ideally, you will also have a driving license.

What we will give you in return:

  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Flexible benefits including reduced rates and access to new schemes including gym membership, IT technology (laptops / tablets / smartphones) and Healthcare Cash Plan (Simply Health Scheme)
  • Access to development opportunities
  • Sponsorship of professional qualifications through our Individual Professional Development (IPD) panel
