Egerton Road is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full time role, 40.5 hours per week at £13.45 per hour. Egerton Road is located in Bexhill-on-Sea, in East Sussex. It offers residential support and neuro‑rehabilitation for 11 males and females with an acquired brain injury (ABI) or a progressive neurological condition (PNC). We are just a short walk from the town centre and seafront.

Our team is dedicated to supporting our residents to return individuals back into the community, via a programme of slow‑stream rehabilitation. Independence, socialisation within the local community and daily routines are all actively encouraged. Egerton Road is geared specifically to cater for adults with an ABI in a supportive, family‑like environment set within a residential space.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You want to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents’ wellbeing.
  • We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
  • Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you’ll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.
  • As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
  • You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • Assist and support residents to attend medical appointments.
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well‑being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same!
  • Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
  • The ideal candidate must be a driver with a full UK driver’s licence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature.
  • Empathy, understanding and patience.
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
  • The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges.
  • Competent in verbal and written English.
  • A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential.
  • To be considered for this role, you must have the right to work in the UK.

What we will give you in return:

  • We want you to succeed at Priory and thrive in your role. You will be well supported with regular career conversations.
  • We also offer full training and numerous pathways into leadership and qualified clinical positions to help you shape your career with us.
  • Adult care benefits.
  • Free on‑site parking.
  • 28 days annual leave.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Flexible benefits including reduced rates and access to new schemes such as gym membership, IT technology (laptops/tablets/smartphones) and private healthcare.
  • Access to development opportunities.
  • Sponsorship of professional qualifications through our Individual Professional Development (IPD) panel.
