About the role

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you’ll be a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, supporting service users through their recovery with person-centred care and clinical excellence

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing and supporting nursing care within the ward environment, including acting as a named nurse for a defined group of patients
  • Assessing, planning, and delivering nursing care in collaboration with patients and their families/carers, ensuring it reflects individual needs and preferences
  • Accurately observing, communicating with, and engaging service users to assess their needs and evaluate their progress
  • Promoting and adhering to the DBT model (for DBT unit roles)
  • Actively participating in quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance processes
  • Ensuring accessible, accurate communication with service users and families regarding care
  • Taking charge of the ward where appropriate, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Maintaining high standards in clinical documentation and communication within the team
  • Working effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT)

About You

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC PIN
  • Minimum 6 months post-registration experience in a mental health setting
  • Confident communicator with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, innovative, and motivated by quality improvement
  • IT literate and adept at using electronic care systems
  • Knowledge of NMC standards and commitment to best practice
