Priory Hospital Southampton is looking to recruit a Mental Health Nurse to join the team. This is a full‑time 37.5 hours per week role.

Location: Priory Hospital Southampton

Compensation: £36,176 per year

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our patients’ wellbeing, assisting qualified staff with assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans and routine tasks.
  • Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
  • Assess, plan and deliver nursing care with patients and carers, acting as the patient’s named nurse.
  • Accurately observe and engage with patients to assess needs and evaluate progress.
  • Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with an active NMC registration.
  • 6 to 12 months post‑registration experience and completion of a preceptorship programme.
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines, requirements and professional practices.
  • Evidence of post‑registration continuing professional development.
  • Positive attitude, commitment to improvement, quality and flexible innovative approaches.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum 6 months’ post‑registration experience in a mental health or learning disabilities care environment.
