We’re supporting Priory Hospital Roehampton with the search for a Lead Therapist to join their flagship inpatient service in London. This role has been live for around a month and is a key leadership hire within a well-established mental health service. The successful candidate will take oversight of the CAMHS and Eating Disorders therapy teams across inpatient and outpatient pathways.
Location: Roehampton, London
Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week
100-bed inpatient hospital
Leadership-focused role – no personal caseload required
The position is ideal for someone with strong therapy leadership and operational management experience. While CAMHS and Eating Disorder experience is highly desirable, the client is open to candidates from broader therapy backgrounds if they can demonstrate transferable leadership skills and experience managing teams in mental health settings. Applicants with the right management capability and clinical foundation will absolutely be considered, whether it be adult or CAMHS.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and stabilising a therapy team of approximately 20 therapists
- Managing a wider structure of 5 therapy managers/team leads
- Oversight of CAMHS and Eating Disorder therapy services across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Workforce planning, supervision, performance management and operational oversight
- Driving pathway development to increase CAMHS engagement and referrals into services
- Supporting service improvement, governance, safeguarding and quality assurance
- Creating a contained, supportive and accountable culture within the team
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong management and leadership experience within mental health services
- Is a confident communicator who can take direction while leading effectively
- Can demonstrate calmness, containment and team stabilisation in pressured environments
- Has experience motivating and developing multidisciplinary therapy teams
- Holds HCPC registration and/or professional accreditation (BACP / BABCP / UKCP)
