About Us
Located in Bartle, near Preston, Priory Hospital is a mental health facility that provides essential services for adults with acute mental health needs and eating disorders across four wards. Our hospital is easily accessible via public transport, with local bus routes and Preston railway station nearby, as well as convenient access to the M55 motorway.
Your Role
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:
- Be an integral part of a compassionate team focused on patient wellbeing.
- Take clinical responsibility for patients, leading multidisciplinary ward rounds and risk reviews.
- Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Supervise the referral and admission process, contributing to pre-admission assessments.
- Provide a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team for effective assessment and treatment.
What You Bring
We are looking for a strong team player who is passionate about a multidisciplinary approach. To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Essential Qualifications: MRCPsych (or equivalent), CCT (or equivalent), GMC Specialist Register inclusion, Section 12(2) approval, and Approved Clinician status.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to the specialty.
- A commitment to shared leadership, collaborative working, and service improvement.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients.

Working Conditions
This is a part-time position, requiring 22.5 hours per week, and is site-based at our hospital. Shortlisting may begin upon receipt of applications, and the vacancy may close early if suitable candidates are identified.
