Location: Bannister Farm

Compensation: £14.25 / hour

Bannister Farm is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join the team. This is a full‑time, 40‑hour role. Bannister Farm is located in Leyland, Lancashire. Our home offers residential support to five autistic adults, who may also have a learning disability. The home is located off a main road, in a pleasant neighbourhood. We can also support those who have:

  • Difficulties with communication
  • Mild to moderate behaviours that challenge
  • Epilepsy
  • Some mental health needs

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our residents’ wellbeing. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.

  • Supervise and support the delivery of person‑centred support and care
  • Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication
  • Ensure residents have person‑centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities
  • Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development
  • Administer medication safely and in line with procedures
  • Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy
  • Complete and oversee accurate record‑keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation
  • Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed
  • Maintain up‑to‑date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice

What you'll bring to the role

  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker is essential
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others

  • Knowledge of care standards, policies, and safeguarding practices
  • Reliable, flexible, and proactive in problem‑solving
