Priory Hospital Richmond House is looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants (Nights) to join their team. This is a full time role.

Salary: £26,200.00 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours a week

Shifts: 7.30pm - 8am (weekend work included)

Car Owner/driver required due to location (IP20 9HB). Based in Harleston, Norfolk, Richmond House is a level 2 rehabilitation service for those with a learning disability. We can support adult females with a range of needs, including those who are on the autism spectrum, those with personality disorders, complex mental health needs, and those with a history of offending behaviours.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience in a similar role. However, while this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our patients’ wellbeing.
  • As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key part in recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
  • Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and relevant healthcare legislation.
  • Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff or the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
  • Provides specific interventions with patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse, following training and competency attainment.
  • Contributes to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participates in regular ward meetings and attends other meetings as requested.
  • Assists in maintaining stock levels, including pharmaceutical products.
  • Maintains ward cleanliness and tidiness and adheres to infection control policy and procedures at all times.
  • Develops and maintains good professional relationships with patients, colleagues and visitors, responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.
  • Helps promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient, relatives and carers.
  • Ensures service users receive a quality service that is value for money.
  • Receives and conveys information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner and ensures all persons visiting the ward are greeted and assisted in a welcoming and supportive manner.
