You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team alongside our qualified staff, you’ll help to meet the psychological and emotional needs of a diverse group of individuals, with varying degrees of either mental health or physical issues. Every day, you’ll make a positive difference to their lives.

Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK., * Support our residents with in-house activities and hobbies

  • Providing support to achieve every day goals including personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting

  • Manage some behaviours that challenge

  • Assistant and support to attend medical appointments

  • Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff

  • Provide emotional support to individuals and their families

  • Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks

  • Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual

  • Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support

  • Analyse an individual’s needs and draw up a focused support plan, Set in a semi-rural location in Hook, Hampshire, and surrounded by oak trees, Priory Hospital Mildmay Oaks supports the NHS by providing low secure services and specialist learning disability and autism spectrum support for both male and female patients. We also offer adult and child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) across our single-person, bespoke therapeutic placements (BTPs).

At Priory, you’ll be part of a close knit and diverse team that helps individuals day to day, encouraging them to live as independently as possible. You will help people reach their full potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Your own positive attitude and genuine passion for providing high quality care and support will be integral to the culture of our teams. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

Whilst previous experience is a plus, the key things you need to excel in this role are empathy and a passion for caring, flexibility and a strong sense of responsibility. Not only is full training provided, but there are numerous career pathways available to you, including our Nurse Apprenticeship program.
