We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Nelson House as a Senior Occupational Therapist. This is a great opportunity for either a Senior Occupational Therapist looking for a more fulfilling role, or an experienced Occupational Therapist ready for the next step in their career. Located in Gosport, Hampshire, Priory Hospital Nelson House is a rehabilitation service which offers both level 1 and level 2 care, supporting males presenting with complex mental health conditions who may also have behaviours that challenge and substance misuse issues.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you'll play a key role in helping patients achieve greater independence and improved quality of life through person centred, evidence based care. You'll manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health, neurological and physical needs, delivering specialist assessments and tailored treatment plans while working closely with the multidisciplinary team. You'll also lead and develop a small therapy team, including one Occupational Therapy Assistant and one Activities Coordinator, providing clinical supervision, guidance and support. You will also work with carers and alongside the Medical Director will be responsible for the carers group.

We are seeking a knowledgeable, energetic and personable Occupational Therapist who puts patients at the heart of everything they do. You must be HCPC registered and hold a Diploma in Occupational Therapy, or a degree, honours degree, or Master’s in Occupational Therapy, or have completed formal postgraduate study (award or non-award bearing). You must also have prior experience working in mental health services as a qualified member of staff, experience supervising Occupational Therapists or Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, and training in relevant models of practice such as MoHO, VdTMoCA, and Sensory Integration.
