Priory Hospital Glasgow is looking to recruit a dietician to join the team. This is a part time role of 22.5 hours. Priory Hospital Glasgow is one of the UK’s leading inpatient treatment centres, providing specialist support for mental health conditions and addictions. We provide evidence-based treatment for a range of mental health problems, including treatment for depression, as well as alcohol rehab and drug rehab. Our patient‑centred treatment programmes are based on the very latest thinking in mental health, and are delivered by expert psychologists, psychiatrists, and other highly qualified mental health professionals. What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

  • Receives and responds promptly to referrals, undertaking consultations and assessments to determine effective dietary and nutritional plans for assigned clients using appropriate interventions.
  • Plans, monitors and reviews dietary and nutritional interventions ensuring they continue to meet the needs of the patient and are consistent with the provisions detailed in the client’s general therapy plan.
  • Manages, monitors and reviews an assigned caseload, providing clinical supervision of dietary and nutritional plans and through regular consultation and liaison with professional and clinical colleagues.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports, computerised system information and other associated documentation, presenting and sharing relevant information and knowledge concerning assigned clients with professional and clinical colleagues at regular multi-disciplinary team meetings.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in dietetics or nutrition, along with a relevant post‑graduate qualification in a specialized area. They must be HPC registered and a member of a recognised professional institution. The role requires relevant experience gained in an appropriate setting, where the candidate has developed interventions for both physical and psychological conditions. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role holder will need to effectively persuade and encourage patients, their families, or carers to adopt new and often demanding dietary regimes and eating behaviours.
