Priory Burston House is looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants to join their team. This is a full-time role.
Salary: £26,200.00 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Shifts: 7:30am - 8pm & 7.30pm - 8am (weekend work included)
Car owner/driver required due to location (IP22 5TU).
Priory Burston House, located in the historic market town of Diss, near the border of Suffolk, provides level 2 rehabilitation for male patients with a learning disability. Our specialist learning disability service also cares for adults who may have complex mental health needs, including autism and personality disorders.
It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.
What you'll be doing:
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing.
- As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans.
- Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities.
- Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse.
- Provide specific interventions with patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse.
- Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in regular ward meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
- Assist in the maintenance of stock levels and ward cleanliness.
- Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors.
- Help promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient/relatives and carers.
- Ensure service users are gaining a quality service that is value for their money.
- Receive and convey information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner.
