We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Ward Manager to support the Ward Manager in leading a nursing team. This is a senior role with both clinical and management responsibilities. You'll spend 20% of your time on management duties and oversee a group of staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Act as the named nurse for patients, planning and reviewing care with them and their families.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
  • Update and review care plans regularly.
  • Handle feedback and complaints professionally.
  • Lead and support your team during shifts, including taking charge when required.
  • Work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for holistic care delivery.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings and staff supervision.
  • Support the professional development of junior staff and act as a preceptor.
  • Follow safeguarding protocols and relevant healthcare legislation.
  • Comply with medication, safety, and professional standards, including NMC and company policies.

About You:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6-12 months' post-registration experience.
  • Completed preceptorship and active NMC registration.
  • Up-to-date with professional development and NMC guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Confident in leading teams and managing care priorities.

Experience Required:

  • At least 6 months of experience in a mental health care setting.
