Priory Hospital Ayr Clinic

Full-time 37.5 hours per week

£36,176 to £41,953 depending on experience

Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse with 6-12 months post registration experience. This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses.

You will be working on the low secure forensic ward working rotational shifts over a two week period. Day shift and night shift worked in blocks full time shifts: 8am-8.15pm Days / 8pm-8.15am Nights.

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday

Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended. However, the site is also accessible via local bus/train station Ayr town centre located 3 miles away.

What you'll be doing:

You will join the team on the Low Secure Forensic Ward. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

  • Hold current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) along with Mental Health or Learning Disability.
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines, requests and professional practices.
  • Evidence of post registration continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality.
