Mill Garth is looking to recruit a consultant psychologist to join the team of a 19 bed high dependency recovery and rehabilitation hospital. This is a part time 22.5 hour role. Based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, Priory Hospital Mill Garth is a level 2 rehabilitation service for adult males. We support people with a range of mental health disorders.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing.
  • We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
  • As consultant psychologist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
  • Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking assessments to determine and plan an effective therapy programme for assigned clients using appropriate and relevant treatments, activities and interventions.
  • Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions within the given field of therapy ensuring activities and interventions continue to meet the needs of the client, and are consistent with the provisions detailed in the client’s therapy plan.
  • Manages an assigned caseload within agreed timescales ensuring regular interaction and communication with clients, professional colleagues and clinical staff.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports, computerised information systems and other associated documentation presenting and sharing relevant information and knowledge concerning assigned clients with professional and clinical colleagues at regular MDT meetings.
  • Leads and co‑ordinates professional and clinical colleagues, providing psychotherapeutic advice and guidance, and assists with the analysis of statistical data and information for research and audit purposes.

  • This role requires a minimum of a relevant Master’s degree, a recognised post‑graduate qualification, and accreditation from a relevant professional institution such as BABCP, BCP, BPS, or an equivalent body.

  • Additionally, having DBT training and experience in HR20 report writing would be advantageous.
