Overview Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is offering a Consultant Psychiatrist position to work on the EDU ward. The role is full time (37.5 hours) and site based, with a salary of £170,000 per year. HCPC registration and GMC registration with Specialist Register are required. Responsibilities Deliver outstanding clinical care to patients referred to the hospital, ensuring they receive compassionate, evidence‑based treatment tailored to their individual needs. Take clinical responsibility for a defined patient caseload, leading multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, reviews, strategic care planning and the development of a safe, therapeutic, recovery‑focused environment. Serve as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, providing clinical leadership, ensuring high standards of care, governance and legal compliance. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contributing effectively to assessment, formulation, treatment planning and patient management. Provide clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams, supporting high‑quality, recovery‑focused, patient‑centred care. Qualifications Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and licence to practise, with inclusion on the relevant Specialist Register. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) or an internationally recognised equivalent qualification in the relevant psychiatry specialty. Demonstrable experience within inpatient mental health services, providing care and treatment for individuals with complex and severe mental health needs. Excellent communication, decision‑making and risk management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic clinical environment. Benefits Free on‑site parking.
