We have an excellent full time opportunity to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Priory Cheadle Royal Hospital. Set within picturesque landscaped gardens in Cheadle, Stockport, Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The focus of our service is to help people to live their best life in a safe and supportive environment.
The role will include:
- Clinical: Working as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician as part of the MDT. Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT. Timely assessment of referrals along with the MDT. Conducting Comprehensive Assessments and Treatment Planning with patients, external stakeholders and carers. Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings; Adhering to organisational admission and discharge policy and procedures. Timely discharge GP notifications and discharge summaries. To contribute to the unit governance through expertise and leadership. Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings alongside giving evidence within these meetings. Participate in a non-resident second on call out of hours rota with a frequency of no more than 1:7.
- Management: Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with Ward Manager. Ensuring Ward is compliant with Organisational and Regulatory requirements. Attending ward governance meetings with ward manager. Working with organisational quality improvement (QPIs) initiatives. Attending Monthly governance meetings.
- Academic: Attending monthly Academic meetings, Case presentations and teaching. Participation in audit, research, quality improvement initiatives.
Post requirements: MBBS or Equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych with s12/AC approval. Full GMC registration with license to practice. Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice. Committed to continued professional development. Desirable to have had significant experience of inpatient mental health acute units. Able to work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
