Are you ready to take the lead in transforming young people's mental health care? Do you want to work within a supportive, purpose-built setting alongside a passionate multi-disciplinary team? We're looking for a skilled and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist - CAMHS to join our inpatient team at Priory Hospital Chelmsford as our new 'Private CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist' for our new ward due to open in the coming months.
About Priory Hospital Chelmsford: Situated within three acres of landscaped grounds, Priory Hospital Chelmsford is a private hospital known for its calming, recovery-focused environment. We offer high-quality residential, day care and outpatient services for up to 56 service users - including a new dedicated 'Private' CAMHS service for young people.

Our multi-disciplinary team includes consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and therapists, all working together to deliver personalised care through a wide range of therapeutic interventions.
The Role: We invite you to be part of our Consultant Psychiatrist team, where your leadership will drive the mental health care provision. As a Private CAMHS Consultant, you will be at the forefront of psychiatric care, offering inpatient treatment and clinical leadership in our private adolescent mental health unit. You will work closely with our dedicated Multidisciplinary Team to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
Clinical:- Serving as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician within the Multidisciplinary Team
- Taking overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans
- Assessment and management of cases collaborating with patients, carers and external stakeholders
- Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings and adhering to organizational admission and discharge policies
- Contributing to unit governance through expertise and leadership
- Assessment and management of outpatient cases collaborating with patients, carers, therapists and external stakeholders
- Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with the Ward Manager
- Ensuring the ward complies with organizational and regulatory requirements
- Active participation in ward governance meetings and organizational quality improvement initiatives and service development
- Attending Monthly CAMHS governance meetings
- Attending regular Outpatient CAMHS MDT meetings and involvement in service development
- Participating in monthly Academic meetings
- Delivering case presentations and teaching
- Engaging in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives
Post Requirements - To be considered for this role, you should have:
- MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice
- Registration on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR, along with valid AC Status
- Experience and knowledge in CAMHS
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
- Commitment to continued professional development
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
