Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team on the EDU ward. This role offers an opportunity to deliver outstanding clinical care to patients, ensuring they receive compassionate, evidence-based treatment tailored to their individual needs.
Set within picturesque landscaped gardens in Stockport, Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal provides comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The focus of our service is to help individuals live their best life in a safe and supportive environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering outstanding clinical care to patients referred to the hospital.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic, person-centred care that supports recovery and wellbeing.
- Taking clinical responsibility for a defined patient caseload, leading key aspects of care delivery, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, strategic care planning, and creating a therapeutic environment.
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, providing clinical leadership and ensuring high standards of care and governance.
What you'll bring to the role:
- MRCPsych (or equivalent qualification), a CCT (or equivalent), and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register, along with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
- Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to multidisciplinary working.
- Demonstrable experience in inpatient mental health services, providing care for individuals with complex mental health needs.
- Proven ability to provide clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and risk management skills.
