Priory Hospital Cardiff provides specialist low secure services for males and females with personality disorders, learning disabilities, and mental health needs. Working in partnership with the NHS, the hospital delivers high-quality, person-centred care across three bespoke therapeutic placements, supporting recovery in a safe, least-restrictive environment. With excellent transport links by bus, rail, and motorway, the site is easily accessible from Cardiff and the surrounding areas.
As a Registered Psychologist you’ll work alongside colleagues from Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work to provide high quality care. The Psychologist we are looking for will be experienced in assessment and formulation to help determine the treatment needs of individual patients.
- Deliver staff training and facilitate reflective practice sessions to support clinical excellence across the service.
- Complete psychological risk assessments and contribute to effective risk management planning.
- Provide evidence-based individual and group interventions tailored to the needs of the patient population.
- Receive peer support and supervision from an established and supportive psychology team based at Llanarth Court.
- Use a creative and compassionate approach to enhance the quality of life and recovery outcomes of patients.
- Support individuals as they progress through their recovery journey and move towards less restrictive environments.

What you’ll bring to the role
Essential: Post‑graduate qualification in psychology and Registration with the HCPC as a Registered Psychologist. Experience of working with complex clients and supporting staff teams.
Desirable: Preferably experience of working in a forensic setting, HCR‑20 trained and experience in the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model.
